Dr. Sara J. Cumming is a sociologist, nonprofit executive, and applied researcher specializing in affordable housing, homelessness prevention, and integrated systems approaches to social well-being. With more than twenty years of experience in post-secondary education, nonprofit leadership, and community-engaged research, she has led over $1.7 million in funded research focused on housing stability, systems integration, and long-term social outcomes.

At CIHW, Dr. Cumming leads the development of embedded Living Lab environments that generate real-world evidence to inform housing policy, service delivery, and systems transformation.
